Buffalo Plaid Kimono
A Scottish trader brought Buffalo Plaid (called "Rob Roy" at the time and still to this day in Scotland) over to North America and it eventually made it's way to Woodrich Woolen Mill. in 1850. The company began making shirts which were an instant success! They named the pattern "Buffalo Plaid" after the mill's designer who owned a herd of Buffalo at the time.
